Intermediate Crafts
String Art:

Scavenger Hunt:


The library criminal left many clues in the library including dirt and clovers
found in the juvenile fiction section of the library.

There was a magnifying glass found in the career room.


A flashlight was found in the genealogy room.
While playing checkers the library criminal left his gloves.


Tony Moore and his mom look for more clues.
Natalie Singleton and Dalton Dick find the dirt and clovers in the
juvenile fiction section of the library.



After the scavenger hunt the children painted frogs.  Dalton Dick concentrates
on painting his frog.

Natalie Singleton and Charity Adams enjoy painting their frogs.


The intermediate group really liked their craft. 
Some of the children decided to paint their frogs all different colors.

 Fingerprinting:
 


 Finger-printing is a messy job.
The kids enjoy their coke-float.


Dalton Dick enjoys his coke-float.
The kids also made some spiders.
 Natalie is eating her spider's legs.

 
Coloring Filters:


Tony Moore doesn't know which color to put next. 
Natalie enjoys creating a colorful filter. 


The Rocket colors!
Some of the children made five or more color filters. 

How to make Colorful Filters:

You need:
coffee filter                                  food coloring
small clear cups                           water
paintbrushes                                paper towels

Fill each cup 1/4 cup of water.  Put 12 drops of food coloring
into each cup.  Fold coffee filter in half 4 times.  Lay coffee filter on
paper towel. Paint as desired.
The children picked their favorite one and took a group picture.

Healthy Snacks with Ms. Brenda Saylor!

Banna Pudding:



Ms. Brenda Saylor makes the vanilla pudding in front
of the caregivers and children
.
Instead of stirring the pudding, Ms. Brenda Saylor allowed
each child to shake the container with pudding and milk.  Alissa
Snyder enjoyed this part of the snack.
 

                      Banna Pudding:

2 Cups of skim milk
1 package of sugar free and fat free vanialla instant pudding
bannas
vanailla wafers


Put skim milk and vanialla pudding inside medium size container and shake
well.  Crumple vanialla wafers into cup.  Put a layer of banna pudding on top.
Slice up banna and put into cup.  Add another layer of banna pudding.
Sprinkle vanialla wafers on top and you have banna pudding!

The children as well as the caregivers both enjoyed the banna pudding

Spiders:



Ms. Brenda Saylor passes out pretzel sticks to make spider legs.
The spiders are made from pretzel sticks, peanut butter, and ritz crackers.


Ms. Brenda Saylor also made Orange Smoothees.  Ms. Brenda taught the
children and caregivers how to accurately measure liquids.

The Orange Smoothee was very delicious, infact Ms. Brenda Saylor had to make
two batches it was so good. 


                     Fish and Wildlife Program with Ms. Betty Lewis from the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife.



Ms. Betty Lewis had a drawing for two fishing poles.
Mrs. Pam Chaliff and some children were part of a
demonstration of the food chain.


                                                      Surprise Storyteller



 Ms. Norma performed the history of U.S.A..
Megan, Ms. Norma's granddaughter, was a poor orphan.


Ms. Norma shows us her fur hat made by Daniel Boone.
Ms. Norma tells the children about the 13 colonies and
the red cloth used to make the flag.



Ms. Norma came well prepared with several things.
After the program Ms. Norma showed her things to one of the patrons.

Magic Show
with Mark Comley



Mark Comley the man of magic.
Dakota was able to help the magician perform a trick.


 A large crowd came to see the magic show.
Shelby and Maggie also helped the magician.

Ronald McDonald!!
